Community Challenges
Our Community Challenges take your supporters to various communities around the world to live and work within them. They participate in a project that will be of long lasting benefit to that community.
These challenges have become increasingly popular over the years, with many corporate groups and charities taking up the challenge.
We find these projects a win-win situation for all involved as the host project benefits, your chosen charity benefits, your corporate reputation is improved and you have a group of happy colleagues/associates shouting loudly about the experience you gave them.
Why a Community Challenge?
There are many reasons for offering a Community Challenge to your corporate group:
- Giving a helping hand to local communities in some of the worlds poorest countries
- Team-bonding and integrating new departments
- Becoming a leading business in this new way to increase fundraising for charities
- A challenge that doesn’t exclude those who are unable to trek/cycle
- Increasing your corporate social responsibility
- Giving your colleagues/associates a unique insight in to a different community and its cultural heritage
- Good leading stories for advertising, newsletters etc
The projects can vary considerably, from building a house or decorating a school to building watercourses and planting trees. Whatever the project, no experience is required, just a lot of enthusiasm and a willingness to muck in with whatever is needed, whilst having fun and mixing with the locals. We always aim to work alongside the community which gives them a sense of pride in the finished product, but also adds a great dynamic and cultural edge to the event.
There is the opportunity to combine a trek/cycle challenge with 1 or more days spent working on a local community project, this twist to your challenge increases the value to the whole experience and is a good way to finish a trip.
