Isle of Man Ultra Adventure

04 - 08 Aug 2021

Our Ultra Adventure Basecamp will be ready to welcome you, at the TT Campsite. Once you join us at our hub, you can settle in - making use of the tents, dining area and private toilets. Tonight, it's a briefing from the trekking guide, and a delicious dinner!

The Millenium Way Ramsey to Douglas - 30km

Today we follow 30km of The Millenium Way. This ancient route was once known as the Royal Way, along which the Kings of Man travelled from Ramsey to Castletown in the 13th Century. The route climbs through the heart of the Island, from the nothernmost town, to open heather moorland and reach the summit of Snaefell at 610m. From here it descends to Crosby and follows the Injebreck River to Baldwin and Strang, before ending back at our Basecamp in Douglas.

Douglas Coast and The Heritage Trail - 31km

Today we start by walking through Douglas, along the promenade and then south on the Eastern shores before passing inland to start the Heritage Trail. This historic route follows the old steam railway line from Douglas to Peel. We have a reststop in St Johns at 25km and visit Tynwold Hill, the Norse/Viking Monument which was the Historical seat of Manx Parliament. Our trail descends to the coast at Peel castle where we can look out over the Irish Sea to Northern Ireland. Then, it's back to camp for a slap-up dinner and drinks.

Peel to Port Erin / Port St Mary - 35km

We head south along some incredible coastline, passing Glen Maye before heading inland for a section along country trails and lanes. The highest point of the day is at Cronk Ny Arrey Laa, 443m, with its commanding views over the west coast and Bradda Head. At 23km we reach the town Port Erin, for a break, before the last stretch of our Isle of Man Ultra Adventure. This goes around the southernmost peninsula to Port St Mary, and the finish line! Here there will be a glass of fizz, before a transfer back to camp where we mark the end of our challenge with a special final night dinner!
