South West Coastal Path Ultra Adventure

08 - 12 Sep 2021

The Action Challenge Camp at St Ives

On arrival in St Ives, we meet at the Ultra Adventure Basecamp. A warm welcome awaits! You will be shown to your private tent, and the communcal tent where we will enjoy breakfast & dinner, and some evening socialising. Tonight we have a briefing on the next three days challenge with all the team.

St Ives to Trevaylor - 25km

A staggering day of 25km walking along ever increasingly beautiful coastline, as the path rises and falls with the contours of the cliffs and beaches. We pass Zennor Beach and Gurnards head, enjoying the views. Next, we head inland to end the day back at our basecamp in Bottalack. A great dinner and some refreshments will be waiting for us! Although only 25km this is a tough days challenge but one that leaves us exhilarated and eager to see more in our coming days.

Trevaylor to St Loy - 25km

We descend to the Penwith Heritage coast, and the famous Sennen Cove. Then, it's on to the southernomost point of the UK -  Lands End! Once we have taken in teh magnificent views, we continue on our way. Soon we pass the magnificent Minack Theatre, with the backdrop of the Atlantic, then descend to the beach and café at Porthcurno. Next it's Pedn Vounder Beach where we pass Logan Rock. Our second trekking day comes to the end at St Loys Cove from where we transfer back to our Basecamp for another great dinner, and to swap stories of the day!

St Loy to St Michaels Mount - 20km

The story today is really about two halves. The morning is tough, with more climbs and descents all the way to the lovely village of Mousehole. This afternoon we are almost completely on the flat. After lunch, the trail passes quickly as we make our way through Penzance, along the 5km of Longrock Beach to Marazion where we can see St Michaels Mount and the end of our incredible challenge. Back on the ‘mainland’, we transfer back to our Basecamp for our last night and mark the end of our Cornish Challenge with a good meal to celebrate an incredible adventure!
