Let’s face it—there’s only so much bonding you can do over a Sunday roast or a round of golf. If you’re a dad looking to connect with your son (or vice versa), it might be time to take things up a notch.
And we mean way up… like 5,895 metres up.
Introducing the Dads & Lads Kilimanjaro Climb. This is a proper adventure – chance to ditch the distractions, get stuck into something epic, and tackle a challenge together. It’s something that’ll stay with you both for life.

Why It’s Special
This is a climb for fathers and sons of all ages. Whether you’re reconnecting, celebrating a milestone, or just want to do something unforgettable together, this is your chance to conquer Africa’s highest peak as a team.
You’ll join a group of like-minded blokes – dads and lads from all walks of life – who are all in it for the same reason… to take on a challenge, support each other, and make memories that’ll last a lifetime.

The Route: Lemosho All the Way
We take the Lemosho Route, which is known for its stunning scenery and high summit success rate. On our climbs, with all the support and quality service this is nearly 100%! It’s a longer route, which means better acclimatisation and a smoother path to the top.
You’ll start in lush rainforest, trek across the Shira Plateau, and loop around the southern face of the mountain. Highlights include incredible sunsets from Shira Camp, the dramatic Barranco Wall and of course, that unbeatable summit sunrise moment. You’ll camp out underneath the stars each night, with full support from our crew.

The Support: Top Crew, All the Way
The trip will be managed by one of our UK Mountain Leaders. These are big characters, with buckets of experience. They’ll keep the group on track, motivated, and safe from start to summit.
We also send out a UK Expedition Medic, fully equipped to look after the team’s wellbeing. Whether it’s altitude advice or blister care, they’ve got you covered.
And then there’s the local crew – the real legends of the mountain. These guys bring the energy, the expertise, and the heart. From the guides who know the mountain like the back of their hand, to the chefs who whip up hot meals at altitude, they’re the backbone of the climb. Expect lively chat, big smiles, and a lot of singing.
Life on the Mountain
You’ll stay in private camps with proper tents, including toilet tents (no need to nip behind a rock). The food’s hot, the tea’s flowing, and those evening dinners in the mess tent can be where the banter kicks in. There’s nothing like swapping stories under the stars after a tough day’s climb.
And when summit night comes, you’ll dig deep, push on, and reach the top together – just in time for sunrise over the roof of Africa.
Who’s It For?
Any dad and lad combo who want to do something unforgettable. You don’t need to be ultra-fit, just up for a challenge and willing to train. We’ve had pairs from all walks of life, all ages, and all fitness levels. Kilimanjaro is the hardest thing any normal person can do – and we offer training guides, and support, every step of the way.
Lock It In
Dates are live for 2026 and 2027, and spots are limited. So if you’re ready to swap screen time for summit time, check out the Dads & Lads Kilimanjaro Climb and get signed up.
