Experience a Night Time Summit Attempt
This trek is specially designed to help those training to climb the highest mountain in Africa, Mount Kilimanjaro! The night you attempt the summit can be daunting, so we have designed a training weekend replicating what to expect which will help you prepare for the toughest day of the upcoming trek. Our Snowdon night training weekend will see you trekking through the day, enjoying a meal in the evening and then starting the trek late in the evening to the summit of Mount Snowdon. Be ready for the toughest part of the challenge, so come along and join us in bringing the Kilimanjaro summit night to the UK!
The Challenge
A real challenge, in stunning scenery
This 2 day group challenge treks to the summit of Mount Snowdon in Wales, departing in the evening with the ambition of summitting and returning to the bottom before sunrise. The group will meet on Saturday afternoon, then head out for a short walk together to stretch our legs, before returning back for a couple of hours to rest and eat dinner. We then set off at approx. 9pm to the start our ascent to the top. Once we’ve made it together, we start the slow descent back down before parting ways.

The Experience
Life on the trek
On an Action Challenge trip you’ll be part of a team which takes on an adventure together – and that’s what makes the experience so special. Because getting to know others, supporting each other when the going gets tough, laughing together, and sharing those special moments & the new friendships are the memories that will stay with you for many years. This challenge is led by a UK Mountain Leader, so you’ll be in safe hands. We include your evening dinner and a packed “lunch” you can eat during the nigh climb also.

The blueprint for Action Challenge event is based on delivering a high quality enjoyable experience – and doing it all safely. An experienced UK Mountain Leader ensures that all aspects of the challenge run to plan – on-hand to look after the group’s wellbeing – enabling everyone to have the best chance of successfully competing their challenge.
Like minded people with a similar sense of adventure – but often from very different backgrounds, and with a wide range of experience, ages, levels of fitness, and personal ambitions. Our trips are perfect for individuals, couples, and small groups of friends to join – and then to take on a unique challenge as part of a larger group which shapes & bonds as the adventure unfolds!
A successful challenge starts with good preparation. The better prepared you are the more confident you’ll be, and the more you’ll enjoy it! Our ‘Challenge App’ will have all the info & details of what to expect on your challenge – and how to prepare for it.
Itinerary & Route
Please note that some details of the itinerary may change, you will be provided with a detailed itinerary once you are signed up to the challenge.
We will meet at 14:00 at Llanberis (outside Royal Victoria Hotel).
Our warm-up trek will commence shortly after for a short trek around the village of Llanberis and the lake, if there is time we will also visit the National Slate Museum and may stop at a café for tea/coffee. We will then head back across a rural terrain to arrive back at the Royal Victoria Hotel. This will be the perfect way to warm up our legs and get to know our fellow trekkers.
The group will then enjoy an evening meal at approx. 19:00 at the Royal Victoria Hotel.
We would then set off on the night trek at a standard time of 21.30.
We will summit Snowdon in the early hours of the morning before returning to the Royal Victoria Hotel car park. Please Note that you will be physically very tired after the walk, as well as sleep-deprived, so you should consider carefully whether departing immediately is the right thing for you. There are several options for accommodation in Llanberis.
