Welcome home to our inspiring 27 Kilimanjaro climbers, who set off on the adventure of their lives on Thursday 25th January 2024. We want to give special recognition to the Willen Hospice Group, who raised an impressive £30,000 for this very worthy cause! Willen Hospice provide free, compassionate care to adults in Milton Keynes and surrounding areas living with a life-limiting illness. Our climbers highlighted their focus with pride, through their highly fashionable t-shirts! With so much money raised for charity, this was a superb trip, but let’s not forget the memories and new friendships that have also been formed over the course of this adventure! This inspiring team joined together, and even in the face of unpredicted wet weather, continued with positive attitudes. They were determined to achieve their goal and managed to reach the Summit and enjoy the magnificent scenery.
This trip was led by our highly experienced leader Joe Johnstone. Feedback from the trip has not surprisingly been highly complimentary towards Joe and his leadership, and one highlighted that ‘Joe was so patient and caring and 100% committed to us all having a safe and successful trip’. This trip was also lucky enough to have father and son medic duo, Patrick, and Liam. They are also highly trusted, and we can be rest assured that our climbers will be safe while under their care. The trip ran extremely smoothly, and this is due to our incredible Action Challenge Team and local leaders. Every single participant should be extremely proud of their achievements, we certainly are and I’m sure their friends and family are too. What an amazing way to spend your January!
